small groups

You can't do life alone. It's fact.

Tough times arise and you need a shoulder to lean on. A young couple is getting ready to make their family of 2, a family of 3. Family members are preparing to say their final goodbyes. Whatever your season or circumstance, life is do-able when we have relationships we can rely on. Relationships that keep us grounded. Relationships that lift us up when we're hurting and relationships that help us celebrate the wins in life.

At The Pointe, we make it a priority to live life together, connected in small groups.

group life

Adults meet together in small groups to cover a ton of subjects, ranging from the foundations of faith to spiritual maturity, finances, relationships, and other great topics. If you have any questions about any of these groups or are interested in joining a group, please feel free to contact us and we can point you to someone who can help out.

Small groups rotate on a regular basis. Each small group meets together for three months and then we take one month off to worship together on Wednesday nights. During the one-month break, registration is taking place for the next rotation of small groups. So, if you don't exactly feel "at home" in your current group or if you would rather do a different study, good news! No group is permanent and each study is temporary; another opportunity is right around the corner!

A20s (Anchored 20s)

This group is specifically for high school graduates up to people in their 20s. A20s meets on Sunday evenings for time together before splitting off into Bible studies for guys and girls. The study for guys is "Samson: A Life Well Wasted" by Chip Henderson. Our guys will discuss 6 ways lives can be wasted if not focused on our God-given purpose. The study for ladies is "Entrusted" by Beth Moore. This study will encourage us to guard what God has entrusted to us while furthering His kingdom by sharing Christ with others and pouring into future generations.

The End of Me

In The End of Me, Kyle Idleman explores life’s difficult moments by looking at four of the beatitudes from the Sermon on the Mount.  In the first section of the book, each chapter will focus on a different paradoxical teaching of Christ.  In the second half, we’ll look at real-life examples of people who have lived the upside-down life that Jesus describes.  Only when we come to the end of ourselves will we begin to be transformed into the whole, blessed person God made us to be.

Before Amen

Before Amen is for anyone desiring an improved prayer life. In this study, Max Lucado reveals his struggles with prayer and his discovery that having a conversation with God is for everyone, not just for the pious few. Through the use of a simple, easy-to-remember, pocket-sized prayer that he distilled from the prayers in the Bible, he shows us how everyone can build a prayer life that is stronger, better and deeper. Connecting with Him each day can mean all the difference in our lives and how we experience God.

Answers to Prayer (Ladies' Small Group)

In this study we will learn how to lay our heart issues at the foot of the cross, where we lose and find ourselves, where the blood of the lamb births the word of our testimony and we overcome unforgiveness, depression, anxiety, rejection, fear, and betrayal.  We'll explore such topics as the walls we build to protect ourselves and God's instructions to bring those walls down (Joshua 6), the importance of casting our anchor daily, how to start small (mustard seed) and speak to the mountain, and so much more!

Leaders - Natasha Gebora & Sarah Williams | Sundays in Demorest, GA

The Circle Maker

Would you like to bring your God-given dreams into being? Together, we will gain a deeper understanding of prayer and, in turn, make a more consistent practice of prayer. Our tenacious prayers that honor God can make the impossible come true. Let's find out how.

The Great Exchange ***no childcare provided***

The lack of answers to our prayers is not because God no longer answers or does not want to help. It is often an issue on our side – some hindrance to prayer, blockages in our own heart. In such moments, no one is more disappointed than God. He wants to help us, to deliver, to answer. Prayer works, because God works. It is effective, because its hope is in Him and His action. But it also demands changes in us. There are prerequisites to answered prayer. Come join us to learn practical steps to answered prayers!

The Spirit of Python

The python spirit can squeeze the joy out of our worship and prayers.  It can pressure us to keep quiet when God wants us to speak up.  And it can steal the peace of knowing that we belong to God.  But there is a way to defeat him.  We don't have to become his prey.  Understand the strategies of the subtle destroyer, how he works, how to detect him, and how to break his hold from our lives.  We can learn to: Recognize the early warning signs that we are under an attack, find ways we may have unknowingly given him access into our homes, and bring God's deliverance and restoration into every area of our lives.

Leaders - Tommy & Chris Childress | Wednesdays in Toccoa, GA

God's will is not just for us to be born again but for us to grow into spiritual adults. God intends all of the Christian life to be a process of growth in Christlikeness. Unleashed is a biblically based, practical tool that unleashes believers for spiritual growth in Jesus Christ. Taking into account ways God uses different stages and seasons in our lives to shape us, this study helps participants understand the lifelong process of spiritual growth and maximize God's work to conform them to the image of Christ.

Making Space-Doing What Matters Most

This study gleans wisdom from the Book of Proverbs and from the example of Jesus to show you how to center your life on God's priorities. You will examine the things that matter most to God and to you as a follower of Christ. Then you will learn to apply godly wisdom that will help you incorporate these activities into your busy life.  Wisdom is learning how to do the right things at the right time in the right way. Allow God to show you what is most important in life and when and how to engage in those activities.

The Art of Marriage
Each marriage is unique. Your marriage is unique! Every marriage is a canvas on which the personalities of each spouse are expressed. Colors, tones and textures become lightened or darkened in the relationship of marriage. Blending all these shades and hues of color into a work of beauty can be a real challenge, impossible to achieve unless directed by the Master Artist. "The Art of Marriage" is a group study led by Joe and Bernice Paulo, who have been working on their canvas for over 58 years. As you begin your canvas together, we invite you to join this empowering study of marriage as God designed it to be: a beautiful masterpiece.
